New T’Challa will be featured in Black Panther 3

Marvel also announced Black Panther 3 with David Jonsson playing T’Challa’s son. Ryan Coogler, who was creatively involved in the Wakandan franchise, is returning to the helm of the film. The film is slated to hit theatres on December 15, 2028, giving Marvel another big theatrical film to build towards in addition to its other upcoming projects.

The new T’Challa opens up a big opportunity for the franchise to explore a new generation. Black Panther: Wakanda Forever saw Shuri assume the mantle of the Black Panther, but T’Challa’s son offers another direct link to the original character and his legacy.

Marvel Gets a New Push for Its Next Era

With “Avengers: Doomsday,” “Ghost Rider” and “Black Panther 3,” Marvel has a number of different directions it can go in the future. Avengers: Doomsday addresses a large-scale multiverse conflict, Ghost Rider can introduce the supernatural aspect of the MCU, and Black Panther 3 continues the story of Wakanda through a younger generation.
