Mercedes-Maybach has given its flagship GLS SUV an upgrade with more power, a more comfortable cabin and more distinctive design touches. Mercedes-Maybach GLS Is Now More Powerful
The revised Mercedes-Maybach GLS 680 is said to use an upgraded 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine, with assistance from a 48-volt mild-hybrid system. The new setup is said to produce about 603 horsepower and 627 pound-feet of torque, giving the big luxury SUV more punch to the punch.
This mild-hybrid setup can help the engine during acceleration, as well as improve smoothness and efficiency. The report also said Mercedes has added mechanical and insulation upgrades to reduce vibration and unwanted noise in the cabin.
