Speculation is already rife about the future line-up of Apple’s iPhones, with some reports suggesting the iPhone 20 Pro will be one of the biggest design changes ever from the company. As Apple continues to evolve its premium smartphone strategy, the rumoured device is expected to offer larger displays, a more refined look and new hardware improvements.
The rumoured larger screen design for the iPhone 20 Pro might be a significant change for Apple from what it is used to. The firm has been increasing the size of the screens gradually over the years but an overhaul of the design could alter how users interact with the device for entertainment, productivity, gaming and professional tasks.
The biggest rumoured change is the display.
A bigger screen gives you more space for watching videos, editing photos, using productivity apps, and playing games. Apple’s Pro models already serve users in search of more advanced features, and increasing the screen size may make the device feel more like a mini tablet.
But Apple would need to balance a larger display with comfort. Larger phones can be more difficult to hold, carry and use with one hand.
Smaller bezels might be coming
By reducing bezels, Apple might be able to increase the size of the display without making the phone significantly larger.

A near-borderless design would also make the device feel more modern with little increase in physical dimensions.
Under-Display Tech May Be Coming
Apple has tried to minimise visible front-facing components.
Future iPhones could eventually hide Face ID sensors and cameras beneath the display. This would allow for a cleaner screen experience without as much interruption.
But under-display tech has to keep pace with quality photography and reliable facial recognition. Apple is known for being very conservative about adding new features until they can meet their high performance criteria.
Expected performance improvements
I’d expect the iPhone 20 Pro to have a beefier Apple-designed chip, most likely.
A newer chip could improve gaming performance, artificial intelligence capabilities, photography processing and power efficiency. Apple’s integrated hardware and software approach might allow for the deployment of more powerful on-device AI features.
You’ll also be able to have a bigger, higher resolution display and not give up a lot of battery life with improved performance.
Possible upgrade of the camera system
And photography is one of Apple’s strongest selling points.
For the iPhone 20 Pro, expect improvements in camera sensors, zoom, computational photography and video recording. Some professional users may also want more manual controls, better stabilisation and better editing features.
It might also mean we have more internal space to fit more advanced camera components with a larger device body.
The big challenge will be the battery life
Bigger displays use more power.
Apple would have to make the battery more efficient by using combination of better hardware design, better processor and software optimisation. And if the redesign opens up more space within the body, a bigger internal battery could also be a possibility.
Users will want longer battery life, especially if Apple adds more power-hungry AI and display features.
