Audi Q9 2027 Revealed as New Flagship SUV Designed for US Drivers With Luxury Upgrades

Audi’s new flagship SUV, the 2027 Audi Q9, with North America in mind, may have just been revealed. The new gen version is said to be a larger cabin with premium tech and more comfort for families and luxury SUV buyers in the US. The Q9 would be the largest SUV in the brand’s lineup, above the Q7 and Q8, if it goes into production.

Audi is gearing up to enter the large luxury SUV segment with the Q9. When it launches in 2027, the Q9 will compete with the BMW X7, Mercedes-Benz GLS, Cadillac Escalade and Lincoln Navigator. The model combines Audi’s design language with modern technology and more space in the interior, the company says.

Designed For Comfort

The Audi Q9 will be longer and have a longer wheelbase than the Q7.

The larger size means more space for all three rows of passengers and more cargo space for families and long-haul travellers. The exterior is likely to be designed in Audi’s latest design language with a broad SingleFrame grille, slim LED lights, sculpted body lines and aerodynamic elements for better looks and efficiency.

Premium Interiors & Next Gen Tech

The 2027 Audi Q9 will have a lavish interior with premium materials, next-gen digital displays and better passenger comfort.

The SUV also gets a fully-digital instrument console, a big touch-screen infotainment system in the centre, wireless smartphone connectivity, multiple USB-C charging points and a premium audio system. On the higher spec cars you get massage seats, multi-zone climate control, panoramic glass roofs and ambient lighting you can customise.

Hybrid Powertrains are coming.

Audi has yet to release engine specs, but reports have suggested the Q9 will come with a range of powertrain options.

Mild hybrid and plug-in hybrid power trains are expected to offer better fuel economy and emissions performance. Turbo-charged petrol engines are also likely to be on offer. Other reports say performance oriented models could come later with more horsepower but still keep daily comfort.

3.1 Safety and driver-assist systems

The latest generation of Audi’s driver assistance systems is expected to be featured on the 2027 Audi Q9.

Adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, automatic emergency braking, traffic-sign recognition, parking assist and a surround-view camera system are standard features. Better sensors and software could also improve highway driving and low-speed manoeuvres.

Engineered to dominate the Luxury SUV segment

The premium SUV segment is still healthy, especially in North America, where customers want large, comfortable, high-tech vehicles with towing ability.

Should the Audi Q9 ever enter production, it would give the German automaker a full-size luxury SUV to play with that could stand up to the big boys and offer customers needing something larger than the Q7 a bigger option.
