Claude Global Outage

Claude Global Outage – Users across multiple regions are reporting widespread issues accessing the AI service, with Anthropic appearing to acknowledge a global outage of its Claude service. Complaints included the lack of response, trouble logging in, lag, error messages and chats that would stop loading in the middle of a conversation.

The global outage of Claude seems to have impacted people and companies that use Anthropic’s AI tools to write, research, code, offer customer service and boost productivity at work. Engineers are working on the issue and trying to return to normal, and Anthropic is expected to post updates on its official service-status page.

Claude access issues reported by users

Users started experiencing problems when Claude wouldn’t give them answers, or there were temporary service errors, reports said.

Some users couldn’t open existing chats, while others said new prompts weren’t being answered. The outage could also have affected login attempts and page loads.

Reports from a number of locations suggested it wasn’t just one country, internet provider or device. The impact may have varied by region and type of account and may have included desktop and mobile users.

Anthropic outage is back online

Anthropic told the WSJ that Claude was facing service issues and its technical teams were probing the incident.

Most tech companies have official status pages and these will tell you if the outage is just for one product, application programming interface, login system or all services. These pages are generally updated as engineers diagnose the problem, implement a fix and observe the recovery.

Other Users of the Claude API Might Also Be Impacted

The outage may have impacted more than just those who interacted with Claude on its website or mobile app.

Companies and developers embedding their products with Claude through Anthropic’s API may also face failed requests, slow responses or intermittent outages. That could impact services that depend on Claude for automated support, document analysis, content creation and software development.

Cause of outage unknown

The cause of the reported outage is not yet known.

Outages affecting services worldwide can be caused by server failures, database issues, network configuration errors, unexpected demand, software deployments or issues with cloud infrastructure providers . Users should not assume malicious activity in the case of cyberattacks, but should await evidence from Anthropic or relevant authorities.

What users can do when outages occur

If you’re having trouble, please check Anthropic’s official status page before resetting your password multiple times or reinstalling your app.

If the problem is on your side, just refresh the service in a little bit, log out and back in, or try a different network. But these steps probably won’t fix a confirmed platform-wide outage.

It may take time to get back

Even if Anthropic issues a fix, it doesn’t mean everything will be back to normal for everyone right away.

Services are often restored in increments as engineers monitor how the system is doing and work to catch up with demand. You may see slow responses, loss of conversation history or error messages in recovery.
